Gary Nylander

Our new gallery contributor is Gary Nylander of Kelowna, British Columbia, in Canada.

Mr. Nylander's interest in photography dates to his start at 15 years old as a photographer for The Goldstream Gazette. He has worked at The Kelowna Daily Courier since 1983.

The recipient of numerous awards, Mr. Nylander has received six Canadian Press "Picture of the Month" awards and the 2003 News "Picture of the Year" award. His work is also in the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University.

Mr. Nylander is the new owner of a ScanMaker i900, which he is putting to good use for cataloging images on his website.

"I am very impressed with the scanner," he says. "The build quality is excellent and the price is very good."

Mr. Nylander's work also includes a body of black-and-white landscape images and other subjects from various locations around Western Canada. His photographs have been the subject of various one-man and group exhibits, and he is currently represented by the Art Ark in Kelowna, B.C.
