ScanMaker i700 Delivers

Carson, CA (October 7, 2004) -- Microtek is now shipping the ScanMaker® i700, a 4800-dpi scanner offering all-around productivity features, including DIGITAL ICE Technology to remove cracks and other surface damage from both photo prints and film.

The fifth in a series of Microtek scanners with Kodak DIGITAL ICE, the ScanMaker i700 introduces unique features to DIGITAL ICE Technology. An "ICE" button on the front panel of the scanner allows one-touch activation of DIGITAL ICE for reconstructing photos. The scanner also serves up different levels of ICE strength -- Normal and Strong to repair photos according to degree of damage, plus a Manual feature that lets users create a custom defect map to identify and repair isolated damage.

Also included with the ScanMaker i700 is ColoRescue™, Microtek's automatic color recovery system that punches up faded colors in both prints and film to their original vibrant tones. ColoRescue is built into the Microtek ScanWizard™ scanner controller software, and color restoration is achieved in one seamless operation with just a click of a button.

Together, DIGITAL ICE and ColoRescue comprise Microtek's exclusive PictuRescue™ system for total photo print and film reconstruction.

Other important specifications of the ScanMaker i700 include a legal-size scan bed of 8.5" x 14", 4800-dpi optical resolution that surpasses the current market standard, and an optional 50-page Auto Document Feeder for use with the large scan bed to yield maximum productivity.

For superior film handling, the ScanMaker i700 has a built-in 4" x 9" transparency adapter, a FilmView™ light box to preview film before scanning, and exclusive EZ-Lock™ Film Holders that lock film into place on the scan bed to ensure perfect alignment and consistent scans.

Standard with the i700 are EZ-Lock holders that accommodate eight 35mm slides, twelve 35mm filmstrips, 4" x 5" film, and medium-format film up to 6x17 cm panoramic. ScanWizard also automatically detects film quantity, film format, and crops the frames for added ease of use.
